Ruby's Miracle

Ruby

Ruby is a 4-5 month old little, reddish, mixed-breed puppy at the Bainbridge Animal Shelter.  This afternoon while volunteering at the shelter, I got her out of the cage to walk her before realizing that both of the legs on her left side are broken (front and back left legs).  She gets around well on the other two legs, but has clearly suffered a severe trauma. Mostly, she just wanted to flop into my lap, sit in the sunshine, and have her belly scratched.

SPECIAL
NEED

Ruby is not just a good dog, but a _great_ dog with such a will to live and a genuine sweetness.  She will be euthanized at the shelter this Monday or Tuesday if no other options are open, but if we can raise enough money to help fund her veterinary costs, we can give her a Holiday Miracle.  I have started the fund with my own donation, but I can't afford to pay her full vet bill.

If you can donate to Ruby's Fund, please send me an email at homewardhound@fastmail.fm or call 850-539-3761 to let me know how much you can donate.  Any amount would be greatly appreciated.

Ruby, the Bainbridge puppy who had two-month-old injuries of a broken hip and broken leg, was adopted by one of her benefactors earlier today, New Year's Day.  She's such a special girl; I had started calling her "little buddha" before she left, because she has an absolutely wonderful, enlightened personality and inner strength.

Ruby asked me to convey her wishes for a Happy New Year to the many people who helped her survive her ordeal.  Because of the kindness of strangers, "Ruby Shines" a.k.a. "Little Buddha" will have many Happy New Years to come.  A photo of Ruby on her homecoming day is attached.

Thank you all so very much for your kindness.  May you have a peaceful and blissful New Year,

Jen Hobgood, for Ruby.
